Growing Up by Sara Gugelmeyer

Growing up is necessary, but it's not always easy. When I graduated from college in 2007, I couldn’t wait to move to the middle of nowhere and be a ranch wife. I moved from a bustling, albeit mostly ag, college town where it was not unusual to spend all of my waking hours surrounded by friends. Obviously my life is now filled with a lot less social time, but that doesn’t mean I’m any less happy. When we get the chance to get together with college friends, fun and plenty of reminiscing ensues.

I guess we are just at that age, cause most of these occasions are weddings. This weekend was no exception as Jeremy and I traveled to Colby, Kan., to celebrate with many of our college friends.  I love those people, and it is great to see them and catch up. But everyone has to grow up eventually, myself included, and I was glad to get home. I feel blessed to have so many wonderful friends, even if we don’t get to see each other as often as we used to.

We're showing off our boots at one such wedding this summer.
